Regarding the upcoming Pimax Crystal Super Key requirements to justify the upgrade costs for buying it needs: FOV of at least 120 degrees at a refresh rate of at least 120Hz at a resolution of at least 4K per eye. The headset, to compete with other headsets on the market, also needs passthrough cameras for movement tracking without requiring separate IR sensors. To really make this package stand out you could package with VR gloves that support precise finger tracking (not just imprecise visual) with 8 button emulation by touching finger tips to thumbs & some kind of force-feedback ideally rather than clunky game controllers that put PC users off VR. I, along with those willing to spend enough to get a top of the range PC to make use of this headset properly, would be willing to pay a lot more for these features; a true top of the range total VR experience for PC VR setup and immersive experience, rather than just a more expensive alternative to the Meta Quest 3 with slightly higher specs!
For me, the killer apps for VR right now are flight and racing sims. Unfortunately these require ery expensive PC's that not many people can afford. I think that the solution to this is cloud-based options where you can tap into very powerful PC's for a lot less $'s.
Still cheaper than buying an airplane or a race car lol this tech allow us to simulate doing things most of us would never get a chance to do in a lifetime.
Years ago EA's ORIGIN had some sort of web browser streaming solution that allowed my to finally play Crysis 2 on my lousy laptop, it was really impressive but, I think it was only used for certain game demos?

Hi, I have a problem with the delivery of Pimax Light - aftermore of 40 days of waiting (I also pay preorder fee 5 months ago), the distributor promises delivery for the fifth time but still nothing - what to do?
3:00 - Weird part to focus on as educational accessibility (in terms of price) is more Meta's area of expertise as Pimax is more expensive, requires a PC (excluding Crystal OG), and Pimax comes off as not that dependable (long-term support-Pimax Portal+VR attachment & Crystal OG's AIO features not being a primary focus of their entire line-up... making them backburner features at the most.)... Probably more but, the 12K QLED hyped up by Pimax and hardly ever being discussed, the trade-in that well mainly was for the 12K - being an incentive to consumers at the time... seems more shady aa 12K still ain't around, 5K SUPERs bought from Mystery Boxes not being treated equal to other 5K SUPERs (the other 5K SUPERs got boosted trade-in value of $900!)
Hey just to highlight, Pimax isn't directly collaborating on these projects. We opened our doors for these students to show them how we design and think about VR headsets - which is one of many possible ways. We'll also visit their campus soon.
@@crimmy0204 how they are better? HTC is a real company, with real products, and real customer service. pimax promises a lot, pays youtubers who hype it up calling it daily driver, and then those same people switch back to Quest 3 anyway.

That's why I try to avoid Pimax unless they bring a 200° fov headset . I am super happy with my Somnium vr1 . A truly masterful crafmans ship . 130°h fov with twice the brightness of Pimax Crystal 🔥🔥🔥

VR Gloves is same as Valve Index Controllers. If they aren't implemented in Games, they are like a brick.
@@directorscut4707 there are already IDEs for VR gloves, and I believe its integrated into the Unreal 5 graphics engine, so its not a problem.
@directorscut4707 there is an IDE for VRgloves, and I believe there is full support built into Unreal 5 game engine.

Smart people there! Agree with all points
imagine pimax hardware/software creating less problems in the world and not more
It would be sweet to make a full VR Game on The Matrix please please 🤯😮
